Ji Chang Wook, an actor, volunteered to help children affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.On February 15, Lee Ki Cheol, Secretary-General of the Korean Committee for UNICEF, stated that “Ji Chang Wook donated 100 million won (approximately $78,000 USD) by participating in emergency relief for children affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.”Ji Chang Wook is well-known for donating and volunteering with fans for a variety of causes and regions, including support for living and medical expenses for families in crisis, participation in campaigns to raise disability awareness, and donations for Syrian children.According to Ji Chang Wook’s wishes, the fund will be used entirely for Children’s Emergency Relief, and it has joined the UNICEF Honor Club. 100 million won will be used for emergency relief projects such as nutrition, drinking water hygiene, education, and child protection for children affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.”Ji Chang Wook, who has been at the forefront of spreading the sharing culture in our society through his fans’ consistent good deeds, sent a large fund for Türkiye and Syrian children,” Lee Ki Cheol added. We thank Ji Chang Wook for his kind heart and support in sharing the pain of children, and the fund will be used wisely to help Turkish and Syrian children rebuild their futures with hope.”Meanwhile, the Korean Committee for UNICEF has launched an emergency relief campaign to assist children affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and is planning a $5 million USD fundraising campaign.Since 1951, UNICEF has supported children in Turkey, and since 1970, in Syria. Since the 6 February disasters, UNICEF’s 170-person office in Turkey and its 217-person office in Syria have been on-site and supporting children.
