JTBC’s upcoming drama “Doctor Slump” (literal title) has cast Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Bak, and Gong Sung Ha!

“Doctor Slump” is a romantic comedy that follows the story of Yeo Jung Woo (Park Hyung Sik) and Nam Ha Neul (Park Shin Hye) as they try to resurrect their lives after falling into a rut after only following successful paths. The two enemies will reunite in their darkest hour and become each other’s light, bringing smiles, excitement, and heartwarming comfort along the way. The two who will spend their happiest and saddest times together pique our interest in how they will depict their quest for happiness.

“Doctor Slump” will also mark Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye’s first drama reunion in ten years, following their hit project “Heirs.” The drama will also be directed by Oh Hyun Jong, the director of “Find Me in Your Memory” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo,” and written by Baek Sun Wo, the scriptwriter of “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.”

Park Hyung Sik will play Yeo Jung Woo, a famous plastic surgeon who experiences the worst slump of his life. Yeo Jung Woo was the top student in his entire school and went on to attend the best medical school, where he became a star doctor with exceptional skills and character. However, a mysterious medical accident pushes him over the edge.

“I am both nervous and excited because it’s my first rom-com in a long time,” Park Hyung Sik said of his upcoming role. “I’m happy and excited to work with actress Park Shin Hye again after a long time.” The actor asked viewers to support the drama, promising to deliver a story that will make them smile and cry.

Park Shin Hye will play anesthesiologist Nam Ha Neul, who is suffering from burnout. She had been labeled a genius since a young age and had spent her entire life immersed in her studies. Even as an adult, she is a workaholic doctor who lives a life devoid of fun and does not know how to do anything other than study and work. However, one day, while reflecting on her broken life, she resolves to change.

“Anyone can fall into a slump in their lives,” the actress said of her upcoming role. I often consider how to wisely overcome that moment and live in good health, so I identified with Nam Ha Neul’s figure. I was drawn to her because I felt a sense of familiarity with the situation she was in. I will work hard to film in order to bring comfort to the many people who have grown tired of life.”

Yoon Bak will play the conceited and pitiful plastic surgeon Bin Dae Young. He has a one-sided rivalry with the successful Yeo Jung Woo, who went to the same college as him, but he also understands Yeo Jung Woo better than anyone else. Although he is arrogant and has a strong sense of self-importance, you can’t bring yourself to dislike him because he demonstrates both his sincere and slick personality. Yoon Bak expressed his excitement for the project after meeting such a talented director and cast. “I will prepare thoroughly in order to create an enjoyable drama,” he added. I hope we can successfully complete [the project] without any major setbacks.”

Gong Sung Ha, who recently wowed audiences with “Through the Darkness,” will play Nam Ha Neul’s best friend and OB/GYN (obstetrics and gynecology) anesthesiologist Lee Hong Ran, who has known Nam Ha Neul from college to residency. She becomes strangely intertwined with Bin Dae Young, who, despite obvious differences, is similar to her. “I am grateful to have been given the role of Lee Hong Ran, and I also feel a sense of responsibility,” Gong Sung Ha said. With this character’s bright energy, I want to put my heart and soul into a great project with special people. Please keep Lee Hong Ran of Gong Sung Ha in mind.”
