Lee Sang Yeob and Kim So Hye will co-star in a new drama!

Lee Sang Yeob and Kim So Hye were confirmed to star as leads in KBS2’s upcoming drama “Pure Boxer” (literal title) on October 17.

“Pure Boxer” is a sports drama based on Choo Jong Nam’s novel “Pure Boxer Lee Kwon Sook,” which was the winner of the second Kyobo Bookstore Story Contest. It’s the story of genius boxer Lee Kwon Sook and a cold-blooded agent who doesn’t feel bad about fixing matches for money and the success of his athletes.

Lee Sang Yeob will play Kim Tae Young, an S&P Sports agent who entices talented athletes and then retires them after taking the lion’s share. Kim Tae Young approaches Lee Kwon Sook, who vanished three years ago after being replaced by top pitcher Kim Hee Won.

Kim So Hye will play Lee Kwon Sook, a brilliant boxer who rose to fame at the age of 17. Lee Kwon Sook was living a new life after disappearing just before completing the Grand Slam, but when she meets the evil agent Kim Tae Young, she faces a new turning point.

“Pure Boxer” is expected to depict in an interesting and honest manner the lives of maturing youths who struggle between their given talents and what they truly want to do, as well as the lives of people who work in the sports industry.

“Pure Boxer” will begin filming soon and will premiere in the first half of 2023. Keep an eye out!
