Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, Ji Chang Wook, and Won Ji An have expressed their final thoughts on “If You Wish Upon Me”!

The drama “If You Wish Upon Me” on KBS 2TV is based on a real Dutch organization that grants the wishes of terminally sick cancer patients. The penultimate episode’s ratings were somewhat higher than the finale’s when it aired on September 29.

Yoon Gyeo Re, played by Ji Chang Wook, is a character who has been tested to the breaking point by a challenging existence filled with hardships. But when he is forced to work as a volunteer at a hospice, he discovers that his life is altering in unexpected ways while still fulfilling the patients’ requests.

In the drama, Sooyoung portrays Seo Yeon Joo, a tough and upbeat hospice nurse who is obsessed with working out, and Sung Dong Il plays Kang Tae Shik, the volunteer team leader of Team Genie. Won Ji An portrays Ha Joon Kyung, a black swan personified, who develops an obsession with Yoon Gyeo Re after he gives her the first ever helping hand in her life.

Ji Chang Wook, Sooyoung, and Won Ji An gave emotional final remarks to console viewers who were already missing the drama. “If You Wish Upon Me,” which began filming last fall, has finally had its last airing, said Ji Chang Wook. A lot of the interactions with our team members on the set of our filmmaking come to memory. Being able to collaborate with such many wonderful people like Yoon Gyeo Re was such a lucky break for me.

“If You Wish Upon Me” was a brand-new challenge and experience for me, he continued. Through Yoon Gyeo Re’s development and the narrative of “If You Wish Upon Me,” I hope that a sense of warmth and comfort was given to the audience. I also hope it continues to be a tale you occasionally reflect upon.

Sooyoung said, “While filming and while watching the broadcasts, I was frequently reminded of wonderful memories from set so I thought about how I was pleased and that I missed it. This was a project that was really soothing [for me]. I sincerely hope that viewers had the same deeply moving feelings that I did while filming.

She added, “I hope this becomes a drama that is remembered for a long time and firmly establishes itself in viewers’ hearts, just like chief Kang Tae Shik’s ambulance. Even though ambulances are meant to travel swiftly, Tae Shik’s ambulance works slowly yet effectively. I think “If You Wish Upon Me” was a drama that drove hard to the finish, much like Tae Shik’s ambulance. We appreciate the viewers that stuck with us all the way through.

Sooyoung talked about her Seo Yeon Joo character, saying, “While Yeon Joo was an image of vigor at the hospital, I think she was also a character who gave vigor to the drama itself. Because of this, whenever Yeon Joo appeared on screen during production, I felt obligated to finish [the scene] and breathe new life into the drama. I contributed to the set’s liveliness and vigor even for scenes that I merely glanced at. I feel proud since I believe the details I focused on were somewhat helpful.

Sooyoung continued, “Our drama has a message with each episode,” after thanking the audience. I hope it turns into a drama that you occasionally open and be reminded of.

“I feel grateful that I was able to greet you with ‘If You Wish Upon Me,'” Won Ji An said. I believe the time I spent with our staff members, as well as with Sung Dong Il, Ji Chang Wook, and Choi Sooyoung, will be remembered fondly. Thank you to everyone who laughed and cried with Joon Kyung all the way to the end.”
