YG Entertainment has issued a brief statement in response to reports about BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s exclusive contract.

On July 12, Munhwa Ilbo reported that Lisa is very likely to leave the agency after the BLACKPINK members’ exclusive contracts expire in August. According to Munhwa Ilbo, Lisa and YG have been discussing her contract renewal but have not reached an agreement.

According to industry representatives, the contract renewal processes for the remaining three members have gone more smoothly in comparison.

According to Munhwa Ilbo, an anonymous Chinese agency said, “We discussed Lisa’s appearance [on the show] while coordinating with YG and Lisa’s schedule, but it was conveyed [to us] that it is difficult to arrange scheduled activities after August as their contract renewal with Lisa is uncertain.”

A source from YG Entertainment explained to Munhwa Ilbo, “[The uncertain scheduling] is due to the tour schedule as well as her individually scheduled activities.” It is unrelated to the contract renewal.” “Contract renewals are currently being discussed,” YG added.

BLACKPINK is currently on their “BORN PINK” world tour.
