The cast for the second season of “The Uncanny Counter” has been announced!

Last October, “The Uncanny Counter” confirmed its Season 2 return and announced that, while Season 1 aired on OCN, Season 2 would air on tvN.

On April 20, tvN announced, “‘The Uncanny Counter,’ which was a fan favorite, will return for Season 2.” The drama’s main leads — ‘The 5 Counters’ — Jo Byeong Gyu (So Moon), Yoo Joon Sang (Ga Mo Tak), Kim Sejeong (Do Ha Na), Yeom Hye Ran (Choo Mae Ok), and Ahn Suk Hwan (Choi Jang Mool — have all confirmed their returns, and the drama will air as a Saturday-Sunday drama in the second half of 2023.”

“The Uncanny Counter” is based on a webtoon about demon hunters known as “counters” who disguise themselves as employees of a noodle restaurant and hunt down demons who have come to Earth in search of eternal life. The 2020 drama made history during its run by garnering the highest ratings in OCN history.

Season 2 of “The Uncanny Counter” will feature the “counters” who have grown stronger as a result of the addition of a new member and the acquisition of new powers. As more powerful new demons are expected to appear in front of the counters, expectations are rising.

In addition to the five main leads, the series also stars Jin Sun Kyu, Kang Ki Young, Kim Hieora, and Yoo In Soo.

Jin Sun Kyu will play Joo Seok, a dedicated firefighter who acts as a savior to So Moon and refuses to turn a blind eye to injustice.

Kang Ki Young from “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and Kim Hieora from “The Glory” will play powerful villains. Kang Ki Young will play Pil Gwang, a demon who dreams of becoming the top predator with the most power, and Kim Hieora will play pure evil Gelly.

Finally, Yoo In Soo of “All of Us Are Dead” and “Alchemy of Souls” will play the newly recruited counter, Jeok Bong.

“We are doing our best to present you with a more fun and interesting Season 2 to repay the love you sent our way in Season 1,” the production team said. We will greet you with an upgraded Korean-style hero series with stronger and more enhanced counters, demons, and strong teamwork, so please look forward to it and show a lot of interest.”

The new Saturday-Sunday drama “The Uncanny Counter 2” on tvN is set to debut in the second half of 2023. Stay tuned for more information!
