The premiere date for TVING’s original series “Island” has finally been announced!

“Island,” based on a webtoon of the same name, is a fantasy exorcism drama set on Jeju Island. It depicts the tragic and strange journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that seeks to destroy the world. The drama will be directed by Bae Jong, who previously directed “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City.”

On October 6, it was revealed that “Island” will premiere in December. The cast, which includes Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo from ASTRO, and Sung Joon, was previously confirmed for 2021.

Kim Nam Gil will play Pan, a tragic character who confronts evil in preparation for the end of the world but is unable to be with humans. Lee Da Hee will play Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and teacher. Won Mi Ho, unaware of her fate, begins a period of self-reflection on Jeju Island. Cha Eun Woo will be transformed into John, a hip Catholic exorcist and priest with the noble mission of protecting lives and purifying evil. He is, however, a figure with a horrifying and dark past. Sung Joon will play Goong Tan, who was raised to deal with evil alongside Pan. However, after a fateful event, Goong Tan begins to oppose Pan, giving the story an exciting twist and suspense.
